ADAX is an initiative by Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) to help enable businesses, governments, academia and professionals to catalyse the adoption of Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence as key enablers to empower decision making and proliferate innovation.

3. DOES ADAX OFFER ANY DATA SCIENCE COURSES?

No, ADAX initiatives are mainly focused in driving talent development, emphasizing on Data Science and AI related skills. The data science courses are available through ADAX training partners only.

4. HOW TO MAKE USE OF ADAX FACILITIES

DATA TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

1. WHAT IS DATA TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

Data Technology Partnership (DTP) is a program to facilitate vibrant collaborative ecosystem to catalyze and proliferate data technology adoption for business enterprises.

 

Objectives of DTP:

  • To accelerate data technology adoption and proliferate Data-Driven Decision (DDD) Enterprises.
  • To progressively facilitate talent development & industry-academic collaboration.
  • To develop a vibrant data technology ecosystem.
2. WHAT ARE THE CATEGORIES OF DATA TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP?

There are 4 categories of partnership:

 

  • Technology Partner : i.e. business entity that provides tools and solutions for Big Data Analytics (BDA) and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Training Partner : i.e. business entity that develops and conducts training related to BDA and/or AI.
  • Knowledge Partner : i.e. business entity that provides research and consultancy in the field of BDA and/or AI.
  • Community Partner : i.e. organizations that contribute to the development of the data technology ecosystem at ADAX on non-commercial basis.
3. HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DATA TECHNOLOGY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM?

TRAINING

1. DOES MDEC PROVIDE FUNDING OR SPONSORSHIP FOR THE TRAINING'S?

MDEC does not provide any form of funding/grant/sponsorship for the training courses listed under this program.

2. IS THE TRAINING LISTED HRDF CLAIMABLE?

All training providers under this program are either a HRDF registered training providers or registered trainers. Interested participants may liaise directly with respective training provider for more details about the HRDF schemes being offered.

3. IS THERE ANY PRE-REQUISITE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TRAINING?

Yes, there would be different pre-requisite requirements for each training course. The training courses listed ranges from introductory level to advanced level.

LET’S LEARN DATA: DATACAMP 45 DAYS FREE ACCESS CAMPAIGN

1. WHAT IS THE CAMPAIGN PERIOD?

17 July – 15 September 2019

2. WHAT IS DATACAMP?

DataCamp offers engaging and interactive Data Science online courses that combines short expert videos with immediate hands-on-keyboard exercises. Their offerings also includes  practice challenges (mobile and desktop) and projects using real life data that is the perfect transition between learning and working on projects in your company. There are 275 courses currently in Python, R, SQL, Git, Shell, Spreadsheet and Theory, with more being added every week. There are also recommended skills and career tracks.

3. WHAT IS BEING OFFERED?

45 days free access to all courses/practice challenges/projects. Participants will get a digital badge/certificate upon completion of each of the course that can be linked to your LinkedIn account.

4. WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Malaysians or Malaysian PRs. Each person is only eligible for the free access one time during the campaign. All applicants must have a LinkedIn account.

5. HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE CAMPAIGN?
  • Participants can register via this link: https://bit.ly/2LQVp2S. A Welcome e-mail with login instructions and details will be sent to participants within 5 working days.
  • If you have an existing DataCamp account, please use the same email address to register so that your previous progress will be saved.
  • The 45 days free access subscription will start on the day that the Welcome e-mail is sent.
  • Participants can enrol using any valid e-mail except for Hotmail (as this typically goes to junk e-mail)
  • No credit card info is required.
6. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE NORMAL TRIAL PERIOD VS THIS CAMPAIGN?

Without the campaign, the free trial is only for the first chapter of each course. Under the campaign, the 45 days free access is for all the courses. Participants will get a digital badge/certificate upon completion of each of the course that can be linked to their LinkedIn account.

7. HOW MUCH IS THE DATACAMP SUBSCRIPTION?

Current subscription price is USD29/month or USD25/month for one year subscription.

8. I’M A STUDENT, CAN I JOIN THE CAMPAIGN?

Yes, Data Camp is offering DataCamp Classroom for free but a lecturer needs to register the class as a group. Under this campaign, students can register as an individual to get the 45 days free access.
